Their story

Daughter of John and Caroline (Riehl) Kraus, both born in Buffalo and of German descent. Her father ran a dry-goods business at 446 Main Street for many years. She married Edward A. Weppner on 29 April 1891, and her maiden name lives on in her son Elmer Kraus Weppner and, later, her great-grandson John Kraus Weppner. Widowed in 1914, she belonged to the Catholic Saturday Afternoon Club and the Altar Society of the New Cathedral, and in 1931 she still lived at 563 Lafayette Avenue, the family home for many years. She died in 1948.
