Their story

WikiTree calls her Emma Lambert of Westhofen, where the Weppners had lived for generations. Her mother, Sabina Born, was a sister of the brewer Philip Born and a daughter of Augustus's sister Eva Magdalena, which made Emma her husband's first cousin once removed. The 1906 county history calls her a niece of Philip Born, and Jacob's obituary calls her his first cousin. They married at St. Louis Church on 1 September 1848 and had no children. She was of German descent and outlived Jacob by nearly twelve years.
