Blandina, their eldest child, was born that December. In 1834 the family sailed from Le Havre, landed at New York on 21 June and reached Buffalo on 1 July, eleven weeks before the Weppners. The 1855 state census finds Frederick Doll, 50, in the city's 13th ward with his wife, Mary, and ten children still at home, from Anthony, 20, to Barbara, a baby.
