Their story
Son of August F. Weppner and Josephine P. Gebhard. A 1931 history counted him “among the younger bankers of the city of Buffalo, who are making rapid strides in the field of finance,” then assistant vice president of the Marine Trust Company. He married Helene Chabot in Buffalo on 28 September 1929, and they lived at 238 Summit Street. He was a Republican. Helene died in 1936, and about 1948 he married Mary Frances Heffernan in Tonawanda. He died on 17 October 1964 at his home on Summit Avenue, survived by his wife and their son, Oliver Joseph. His obituary in the Buffalo Courier-Express names his surviving sisters and brother as Sister M. Theodore, G.N.S.H., Mrs. Albert Salter and Theodore J. of Bronxville, New York. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, his funeral was held at St. Mark's Church, and memorial gifts went to the Roswell Park leukemia fund.
Some family trees list him as a son of Charles A. Weppner instead.
